Tuesday, Nov. 12, 12 pm (Central)

Be prepared for the question, "Where do you see yourself in five years?"

career-month_11-12-19_how-build-career-plan

How can you plan your career when so many variables are out of your control? How can you figure out where you want to be in five years—or even one year—when you don’t have a crystal ball? Does the thought of answering the question “where do you see yourself in five years?” in a job interview make you want to melt into the floor?

Join us for this Career Month webinar led by Amy Gardner, JD’02, a certified career development and career transitions coach, to learn how to build your career plan.

By the end of this Career Month webinar, you’ll have the tools you need to create a career plan that takes into account the fact you can’t see into the future.

You’ll learn:

  • How to identify the elements of your career plan
  • What to focus on to grow and advance in your career
  • How to cope with and adapt to changes outside your control
  • When it’s time to change course

About the Presenter: Amy Gardner, JD'02

amy-gardnerAmy M. Gardner, JD’02, is a certified career development and career transitions coach with Apochromatik. She helps attorneys and other professionals cut through distortions and distractions to decide where they want their careers and lives to go, and then develop the tools to get there. Whether that means helping clients improve and advance in their current role or move to another, her goal is to help clients create a career and life they love rather than simply tolerate. Gardner’s work draws on her unique experience working with law students as dean of students at the University of Chicago Law School and a successful career practicing law, first as a Skadden litigation associate and later as an associate and then partner at a mid-size Chicago firm. Gardner received her BA from Luther College in English and political science, her JD from the University of Chicago Law School, and her MA in public policy and administration from Northwestern University. She is a graduate of the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching and a member of the International Coach Federation. Her career advice has been featured by numerous media outlets, including Corporette, Glassdoor, Monster, and NBC.
